ITRI is a non-profit R&D organization engaging in applied research and technical service and with more than 5000 professional researchers. Dr. Chou’s research focuses on industrial wastewater treatment and reclamation, and advanced treatment of surface water, especially in advanced biological and oxidation processes. She has more than 100 publications and more than 20 approved patents. She also accomplished many full-scale applications of patented wastewater treatment process in the industries. Her accomplishments in ITRI can be summarized as follows:a. Leading of R&D, technical service and technology transfer projects in the categories of wastewater treatment/reclamation, drinking water treatment, and micro-pollutants monitoring and control in high-tech industries.
b. Development of integrated membrane process for water/wastewater treatment and reclamation.
c. Development of low-sludge AOP and inorganic removal processes.
d. Development of special water treatment technology for polluted surface water (such as for high-turbidity water and bio-pretreatment) and sewage effluent reclamation
e. Development of advanced wastewater treatment technologies applied in industries, including semiconductor, petrochemical, and TFT-LCD, etc.
f. Leading of international collaboration with university, and research organization; also the international business with industries.
